| A Mom in the IHN program shared this story, My six year old son told me about a conversation he had with his teacher. She asked him where he was living and he told her he lived in Cambridge. The teacher then asked if they had found an apartment. My son told her, No, but Jesus is letting us stay in his church." | |||||||

| The History of New Pathways, Inc. New Pathways, Inc was founded in 1999 in Cambridge, MN by 3 women with a vision. The founders come from a background of providing traditional social services and education programs, mostly for children. Frustrated at the lack of success in assisting at-risk children, they sought a way to work with the entire family to change the environment, thus encouraging the success of children and their families. Through research, New Pathways, Inc found Family Promise, a national organization, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) program. New Pathways founders liked how the program sought to create change in families' lives rather than simply provide services. The IHN model allowed New Pathways, Inc to become a transitional shelter by using area churches as volunteer organizations to provide shelter in their buildings. In addition to shelter, 3 meals a day, and hospitality that the churches provide, New Pathways, Inc provides comprehensive support services to the families during their stay with us.
